Here are some common issues you might encounter while filling out the application form. If you still have questions about the registration process, please feel free to email us:
1. About the Travel Document Number
The "Travel Document" refers to the travel document that you will use to enter Hong Kong, such as a passport or a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau (for visitors from Mainland China). Please enter the first five digits of the document number as it appears on your travel document.
2. About the Type of Participation
Please note that accompanying guests are not allowed to attend academic sessions and will not receive an access code for CityU. If a participant wishes to join academic activities, they need to register independently as either a Standard or Student attendee.
3. About Payment
Registration fees can only be paid by Credit Card/Alipay or Bank Transfer. You need to pay for both yourself and any accompanying persons at the same time. For example, if you are registering as a student and bringing two accompanying persons, the total fee will be 600 USD or 4680 HKD.
4. About the Acknowledgement Email
Within a few working days after completing your registration, you will receive an Acknowledgement Email. If your registration is successful, the email will confirm that your registration has been approved. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact us via email immediately.

Starting from CityU, it takes about 8 minutes to walk 450 meters to Kowloon Tong MTR Station. From Kowloon Tong, take the East Rail Line towards Admiralty and get off at Mong Kok East Station (1 stop, approximately 2 minutes). From Mong Kok East Station, it’s a 5-minute walk (about 400 meters) to Royal Plaza Hotel. The entire journey takes approximately 15 minutes.
To return from the hotel to CityU, simply take the MTR in the opposite direction.

Starting from CityU, it takes about 8 minutes to walk 450 meters to Kowloon Tong MTR Station. From Kowloon Tong, take the East Rail Line towards Admiralty and get off at Hung Hom Station (2 stops, approximately 4 minutes). From Hung Hom Station, it’s a 6-minute walk (about 450 meters) to Harbour Plaza Metropolis. The entire journey takes approximately 18 minutes.
To return from the hotel to CityU, simply take the MTR in the opposite direction.

How to get to InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong:
Starting from CityU, it takes about 8 minutes to walk 450 meters to Kowloon Tong MTR Station. From Kowloon Tong, take the East Rail Line towards Admiralty and get off at Hung Hom Station (2 stops, approximately 4 minutes). From Hung Hom Station, it’s an 11-minute walk (about 750 meters) to InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong. The entire journey takes approximately 23 minutes.
To return from the hotel to CityU, simply take the MTR in the opposite direction.
Transportation
From Airport to CityU (About 1 hour)
- Airport express
From Hong Kong International Airport, you can take the Airport Express to Tsing Yi Station. Then, transfer to the Tung Chung Line and get off at Lai King Station. At Lai King, switch to the Tsuen Wan Line and travel to Prince Edward Station. Finally, transfer to the Kwun Tong Line, which will take you to Kowloon Tong Station. Follow the signs at Kowloon Tong Station to reach the City University of Hong Kong.
From High-Speed Rail Station to CityU (About 30 mins)
- Mass Transit Railway (MTR)
If you choose to arrive in Hong Kong by high-speed rail from mainland China, you will go through customs at West Kowloon Station. From there, take the MTR Tuen Ma Line from Austin Station to Hung Hom Station, and then transfer to the East Rail Line, which will take you to Kowloon Tong Station. Follow the signs at Kowloon Tong Station to reach the City University of Hong Kong.
From Shenzhen Luohu/Futian Port to CityU (About 40 mins)
- Mass Transit Railway (MTR)
If you choose to enter Hong Kong from Shenzhen’s Luohu or Futian Port, you can take the MTR directly from the port station. Ride the East Rail Line all the way to Kowloon Tong Station. From Kowloon Tong Station, follow the signs to reach the City University of Hong Kong.
